New Equipment for the Fire Department

The Federal Government and Emergency Management Ontario (EMO) have sponsored the Cochrane Fire Department with the purchase of a Satellite Phone, a television, and a printer for the Emergency Operations Center located at the Fire Hall.

Forty percent has been funded through the JEPP (Joint Emergency Preparedness Program) with balance of the funding through the Town of Cochrane.

The Town of Cochrane has a comprehensive emergency plan that complies annually with EMO regulations. The plan is intended to aid in ensuring the coordination of municipal, volunteer and emergency services, including EMO in an emergency of disaster to bring the situation under control with the utmost effect.
