Lake Commando provides a refreshing refuge from the summer heat. Smack dab in the heart of the community, keep an ear out; you may catch some entertainment coming from the bandstand or one of the many festivals held at the lake peninsula recreation grounds, such our Annual Summerfest and Annual Winter Carnival.

Visit the Tim Horton Events Centre and check out the NHL sized rink, community hall, fitness center, and the state-of-the-art and newest recreational complex in Northeastern Ontario.

Cochrane hosts the Polar Bear Habitat and Heritage Village which is one of only a handful of world class tourist attractions in all of Northern Ontario.

Council Meetings
Regular Council meetings are held on the first Tuesday and three Committee of the Whole meetings on the second, third and fourth Tuesday in each month from January to December inclusive. Meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. inside the Council Chambers, in the Town Hall, located at 171 Fourth Avenue.

Polar Bear Habitat
When you hear the name Cochrane, you may well think "Polar Bears". There's a reason for this. Fun for the whole family, our famous Polar Bear Habitat sees thousands of visitors every year. Both young and old thrill to the opportunity to not only view and learn about these powerful creatures, but to actually swim with them! Image swimming nose to nose with a Polar Bear, with only a thin protective window between the two of you.
